Rockin' the Arts
The third annual Rockin’ the Arts gala and auction was held Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Wadsworth Homestead in Geneseo. This fundraiser, presented by Livingston Arts and KidStart, was a benefit for both children and arts programming.
The event featured a live auction as the focal point of the evening. Kyle and Dick Tracy provided charity auctioneering services, and 10NBC news personality Rebecca Leclair was celebrity host.
For this year’s auction, more than 20 local artists transformed ordinary furniture into beautiful, functional art pieces. With tables, chairs, and more as their canvases and everything from paint brushes to power tools as their instruments, local artisans created one-of-a-kind pieces to raise visibility and funds for two needed local not-for-profit agencies.
Auction proceeds and ticket sales for the event will be divided equally between KidStart and Livingston Arts. As part of The Arc of Livingston-Wyoming, KidStart’s special services, day care, and Head Start programs serve about 400 local children annually, including many with significant disabilities or delays. Livingston Arts enriches the quality of life in the area by encouraging and promoting the arts and cultural activities through support of artists, schools and community groups.
